NAACP Nashville Branch new officers and committee members

In December, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), Nashville Branch held it’s annual meeting for 2012 and the newly elected officers for 2013 received their oath to carry out the ditates of their offices and the executive committee.

The meeting’s invocation and welcome were carried out by Master Adric Kimbrough, Jr. and Little Miss Sojourner Franklin. There was a brief meeting, including committee reports; followed by “The State of Nashville with an Emphasis on African Americans” by Dr. Sekou Franklin. Other Youth, Master Myles Slay and Little Miss Elizabeth Kimbrough performed a vocal selection and dramatic/dance interpretation, respectively. The President John E. Arradondo, presided.

The installation of officers and the executive committee was administered by the Honorble Rachel Bell. The following officers will begin serving this year, 2013 to 2015: Dr. John E. Arradondo, president; Gordon Larkins, first vice president; Rev. Harold M. Love, Jr., State Rep., second vice president; Dr. Blondell Strong-Kimbrough, third vice president; and Ms. Cheryl Goldthreate, assistant secretary. The executive committee members for 2013 to 2015 are listed below: Ms. Sheryl Allen, Ms. Monet Brown, Dr. Paulette Coleman, Mr. Jewell Crawford, Sr.; Ms. Tremecca Doss, Ms. Tene HamiltonFranklin, Rep. Brenda Gilmore, Mr. Joe G. Goldthreate, Dr. Charles E. Kimbrough, Ms. Annette T. Moore, Mr. George Nichols, Mr. Walter Searcy, Mr. Charles R. Smith, Mr. Preston E. Stuart, Jr.; Rev. Kelvin L. Walker, Mr. Bruce Wood, and Mr. John Zirker, Sr.

The meeting ended with a statement from the President of the Branch, regarding its state as well as that of the national office.
