The Nashville Branch of the NAACP will host its annual Freedom Fund Gala in the Davidson Ballroom of the Music City Center (201 5th Avenue, South, Nashville, Tennessee 37203) on Thursday, August 28.
President of the Nashville Branch, NAACP, Dr. John Arradondo, writes this appeal for support: “As president of the Nashville Branch, NAACP, I join the 2014 Gala Chairs, Francis Guess, Ben Rector, Elizabeth Seigenthaler Courtney and Vicki Yates, to solicit your support of the Annual Freedom Fund Gala. Your participation will enable the branch to be better equipped to serve members of the community who seek social justice regardless of race, color, gender, national origin or religion persuasion. The Gala will celebrate and commemorate the 50-year anniversary of the signing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 into law by President Lyndon Johnson. The 2014 Freedom Fund Gala will also recognize and honor the courageous work of former U.S. Rep. Richard Fulton and former U.S. Rep. Ross Bass for their commitment to justice for all. They were two of the seven congressmen from the South who voted for the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
The annual Freedom Fund Gala is the premier fund development event for the Nashville Branch NAACP—highlighting the initiatives of the local organization. Each year, the Gala brings together countless community leaders, Branch members and financial supporters to assist in raising funds for local civil rights efforts.

Tickets are $125 for adults, $50 for college students, $35 for students 18 years old and under.
The Gala starts off with a mixer at 5:30 pm followed by the program and dinner at 6:30 pm. Seating begins at 6 pm.
