The board of directors and staff of 18th Avenue Family Enrichment Center are preparing for the 7th annual Angels of Hope Prayer Breakfast on Dec. 6. The breakfast will be held at Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church, 1203 9th Avenue North from 9:30-11 am.
Addressing the theme, ‘You Can’t Have Hope Without Faith,’ the featured speaker will be Rev. Dr. Alicia Tulloss.
The 18th Avenue Family Enrichment Center is a three-star 501(c)3 organization that has been an important landmark in the North Nashville community since 1934. During this time, the center has provided many services, including: day care and pre-school care for children ages 12 months to five years; Spanish classes for pre-schoolers; and a summer enrichment program held in conjunction with C.E. McGruder Family Resource Center.
“We are a vital part of the village that is so important in raising our future: our children,” said a staff member.
The executive director and the board of directors represent an array of individuals who work with a committed staff to make sure that the center continues to be a beacon in the community.
The Family Enrichment Center continues to grow. Their most recent endeavor happened last year as they became a part of Early Learning Connections.
Celebrating the 7th year of the Angels of Hope Prayer Breakfast, the group looks back at how this event has grown into a signature event that supporters can truly be proud of.
“We thank Pastor William F. Buchanan and the 15th Avenue Baptist Church family for graciously agreeing to be our host,” said an organizer. “And we also thank Pastor Jimmy D. Greer, Sr. and the Friendship family for being a supportive partner for over 20 years.”
The mission of the Center is to positively impact the quality of life for children and families, primarily in North Nashville, by responding to the needs of the community through center-based programs.
With their mission, the vision of the center is to be the community’s most dynamic enrichment center by providing educational and outreach opportunities for children and families. Their pledge is to “strengthen the community by increasing philanthropy, enhancing professional development and maximizing partnerships and community collaborations.”
The Eighteenth Avenue Family Enrichment Center is located at 1811 Osage Street. Altie Jordan is the executive director.
The 7th annual Angels of Hope Prayer Breakfast will be held at Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church where the pastor is Rev. William F. Buchanan.
