During the month of April, more than 3,800 local Comcast NBCUniversal employees and their families, friends and community partners will “make change happen” as they volunteer to improve various neighborhoods and organizations across Tennessee as part of the 14th annual Comcast Cares Day.
Comcast Cares Day, which takes place each April during National Volunteer Month, is Comcast NBCUniversal’s companywide celebration of their year-round commitment to service and the nation’s largest single-day corporate volunteer effort in the country.
Comcast volunteers, elected officials and community partners invite Nashville residents to join them at various volunteer projects in Nashville including the following marquee events:

For more information and to sign-up to volunteer, visit the direct project link at: This month, Comcast will hold 28 total projects across Tennessee that include children’s education, digital literacy, food banks, building outdoor classrooms, landscaping, beautification and revitalization. To find a project in your area, visit This year, the Company expects more than 95,000 Comcast and NBCUniversal volunteers to participate in more than 700 projects across the country and around the globe. To date, volunteers have contributed more than 3.7 million service hours to improve nearly 6,000 projects in the U.S. and around the world since Comcast Cares Day started in 2001.

“It truly is amazing to see the transformations that take place when communities mobilize to revitalize neglected neighborhood parks, beautify schools to improve the learning environment, stock community food banks, plant trees, install and wire computer labs at community centers, and so much more. The Comcast Foundation will also provide grants to local community partner organizations across the country on behalf of everyone who volunteers on Comcast Cares Day.
The grants will help Comcast’s community partners continue their mission of serving the community throughout the year.
To date, the Comcast Foundation has awarded more than $16 million in grants to local non-profit organizations who have partnered with us on Comcast Cares Day.

After the 2014 vandalism at the McGavock High School baseball field, Comcast employees have committed to helping restore the baseball field and property during this year’s Comcast Cares Day. Volunteer activities will include landscaping around the concession stand and the Mel Brown Sign, painting the club house and concession stand, spreading gravel under the bleachers and installing motion flood lights for security.
