Skanska hosts Women’s Power Breakfast for Diversity & Inclusion Week

Skanska’s Nashville team recently celebrated its national Diversity & Inclusion Week with a series of events that reinforced the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and community. Skanska’s theme for this year’s national Diversity & Inclusion Week was “Breaking New Ground,” and employees and partners across the country participated in activities such as the Women’s Power Breakfast, locally.

The Skanska Women’s Power Breakfast in Nashville featured keynote speaker Linda Peek Schacht, founding director of the Nelson & Sue Andrews Institute for Civic Leadership at Lipscomb University. Schacht highlighted the challenges women face in the workforce and shared the professional and personal experiences that have contributed to her success.

Laura Moore, vice president of policy of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce; Derek Young, president of YMG Enterprises, LLC; and Danielle Driscoll, vice president of marketing for Skanska, led small group conversations about diversity and inclusion in the workplace and provided insight on the skills that are required for women to advance in the workforce.
