Wednesday noonday services at Clark Memorial UMC

While it is customary from years past to have Bible study on Wednesday nights around suppertime, it is also quite common to attend Bible study groups at noonday. There are several churches throughout the city that continue to offer a Wednesday night Bible Study.

However, noon is also an alternative.

With the ‘mid-week, mid-day’ services, a lunch is usually offered so that those who are coming from work can use that time to take their lunch hour and return within the hour.

At Clark Memorial United Methodist Church, 1014 14th Ave. N., a mid-week, mid-day service was developed with not only workers in mind, but for elderly members as well.

“There are some members that don’t like to try and get out in the crowd on Sunday mornings, therefore, this worship service was an alternative for them to attend,” said one of the developers for this service.

The mid-week, mid-day service is named ‘1/2 Hour of Power.’ From noon until 12:30 pm, a very relaxed worship service is held with the pastor giving a word on the 2nd and 3rd Wednesday, a testimonial service on the 4th Wednesday and a day dedicated to the education of music on the 1st Wednesday of each month.

All services are followed by a fellowship meal from 12:30-1 pm.

There are visitors who attend to share in song and sometimes a word.

The evening Bible Study continues to take place at 6 pm. However, it is held in a more traditional way, with the participants meeting in the fellowship hall, instead of in the sanctuary with a worship service.

While each of the Wednesday services throughout the city is different, it is requested that you would submit your Wednesday worship service information to Wanda Clay at .
