In celebration of Black History Month, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority’s (MNAA) Arts at the Airport kicked off its 3rd annual Black History Month Music Series at Nashville International Airport (BNA) on Feb. 7. MNAA’s Black History Month Music Series spotlights local bands and groups performing, commemorating and celebrating the sounds of the American Civil Rights Movement.

“The Nashville community, and our travelers from across the globe, will have the opportunity to hear the music that accompanied a major social movement in American history—from the marches and rallies to the quiet church gatherings, these are the songs that continue to inspire us all today,” said an airport official. “At Nashville International Airport, we celebrate diversity through music year-round with various series including our Multicultural Music and Nashville Emerging Artists series. We look forward to kicking off our Black History Month Music Series, showcasing the iconic sounds of the Civil Rights Movement.”

MNAA’s Black History Month Music Series began with a noon performance from Creative Soul Music Academy. Subsequent performances are: Feb 13, from noon to 2 pm; Nate, Bean & 4Given, on February 21 from 11 am to 1 pm; and the TSU Meistersingers on February 28 from noon to 2 pm.

All performances are free and open to the public and will take place at Nashville International Airport on the Arts at the Airport Stage located in the Starbucks Meeter-Greeter Area (non-secure side/ticketing lobby level).
