The Urban League of Middle Tennessee will host its inaugural legislative town hall on Friday, December 14.
The free forum will be held monthly and will feature elected officials centered on the issues being discussed in the Tennessee Legislature and impact our community and businesses.
Friday’s event will take place at Watkins College of Art, in the Watkins Theater room. The program will begin at 8 am with networking and a continental breakfast taking place earlier.
The event will feature State Sen.-elect Brenda Gilmore, state Rep. Harold Love and state Rep.-elect Vincent Dixie.
With just a month off the campaign trail and preparing for the 111th General Assembly, the legislators will use the platform to discuss the new session, the new governor’s agenda and issues in greater detail than the media normally allows as it may impact our community and businesses.
The panel discussion will be moderated by Leah Dupree, former candidate for Metro Council District 21 and Director of Legislative Affairs at the Tennessee Department of General Services.
Legislators will answer an array of questions prepared prior to the event from education to budget and finance and much more, as well as questions from the audience.
