Do you want to be rich? Do you want to be famous? What do you wake up every morning desiring to do? Who are you trying to please with your actions?”

There has to be more to life than just getting up every day and going to work. There has to be more to life than doing all the things that we do in the name of ‘enjoying ourselves,’ but all the while we are slowly ‘destroying ourselves.’

Our #1 purpose is to bring glory to the Father. (That was simple enough, huh)?

Isaiah 43:7, KJV, says: “Even every one that is called by my name: [All who call upon me and follow me—all who are reconciled unto me] for I have created him for my glory, [I made them so that my splendor will shine through them—I made them so they will bring honor to my name.] I have formed him; yea, I have made him.” [I breathed life into them for this reason—for my glory].

Here’s a little exercise. Close your eyes. Sit quietly. Think about the words you say, things you do, places you go, people, you allow in your life, thoughts that you put into your mind, and what you do to your body when you think no one else is watching.

Now think about the words you want to say, things you want to do, places you want to go, people, you want to allow in your life, thoughts that you want to come to fruition, and what you want to do to with body if you thought no one was watching.

Now imagine God sitting right beside you watching. Is He proudly smiling, or are tears rolling down His face? When we look at ourselves in the mirror, are we reflecting His greatness, His splendor, and His excellence?

Genesis 1:27, KJV, says: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

We were made in the image of our Father, created in His likeness to be like Him. If you look into a mirror, what do you see? You see your reflection. Does your reflection reflect the image of God? Are your actions and thoughts in line with the will of God?

Joshua 24:15, KJV, says: “And if it seems evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve…but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Choose today whom you are going to serve. Will it be God or will it be anything or anyone other than God? Because anything you find more important to do or anyone that you find more important to be with than Almighty God has become a god to you.

Who are you living for? If you still don’t know then think about this: Is who or what you are living for worth you dying for?
