The human body

The body is the physical element that contains the spirit and the soul. The primary reason that God has given us a physical body is to do His will on earth (Romans 6:13,

1st Corinthians 6: 13,18-20). God gave us physical bodies for reproductive purposes
(Genesis 9:7). Spiritual beings cannot reproduce.

God gave us physical bodies to dwell in a physical world, to interact with our surroundings. Our physical bodies allow us to enjoy the beauty of this world that we were made to dwell in.

Scientists have proven that if our physical bodies get too hungry, too tired, too lonely or too depressed there is danger of an imbalance in our emotional needs. This imbalance can lead to serious health problems (illness or death). It is important to take care of not just our physical needs but our emotional and our spiritual needs also. Most of us take good care of our physical needs but neglect our emotional and spiritual needs.

Your body is The Temple of The Holy Spirit (1st Corinthians 6:19). The Holy Spirit resides inside your body. God formed the physical body first. Genesis 2:7 states, “and The Lord God formed man out of the dust of the ground and breathed into man’s nostrils and man became a living soul”. We are living bodies. Our bodies are marvelous gifts from God.

To keep our bodies healthy, we need to get adequate sleep/rest, drink pure water, eat nutritious food, exercise and take vitamins etc. It is important to remember that when physical ailments invade our physical bodies there is relief. Relief can also be found in reading and meditating on God’s Word.

God created our bodies and He knows every detail about our bodies. He knows every organ and every tissue of our bodies. He is the Great Physician that can heal our bodies and make them whole. He has included in his manual how to keep our bodies free from pestilence, disease and pain. It is written in 1st.John 4:4,“But if the Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal (earthly) body through His Spirit that dwells in you.”
