Promises of God (part 3)

God’s promises have His omnipotent power (great, powerful) behind them. They cannot be stopped by human power. He is all powerful. Nothing is too difficult for God (Jeremiah 32:27) and nothing can stop what God has for his children. You can take God at his word. There has never been nor will there ever be any one of his promises that will ever fail. The creator stands behind His promises and His word. Trust them, lean upon them, rely on them and have the assurance that “What God promises, God delivers. Jesus is the Word,” John 1:1, 14.

When we abide in the word of God, we abide in Him and He in us. He promised to answer our prayers. “If you abide in me and my word in you, ask whatever you will, and it will be done for you,” John 15:7. Jesus promised that he hears us. “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us,” John 5:14.

God stands behind His word. His promises are trustworthy, and His promises are true. What God says, He will do! God gives us a choice: to believe or not to believe his word.

We have a free will, and He will not violate our will to choose or not to choose, i.e., obeying what He says. “Choose life that you and your seed shall live,” Deuteronomy 30:19.

God is not going to intervene in a situation unless you choose for Him to intervene. He desires us to be led by the Spirit and to keep our minds on the things of God (Romans 8:6). God wants his children to be spiritually minded concerning the things of God. He does not want us to be carnally minded concerning the things of the flesh. To be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. “…for the mind of the flesh is death but the mind of the spirit is life and peace,” Romans 8:6.

Get into God’s word. His word is spiritual. Get your mind on the word so you can live a life of peace. God has helped many people in the past and He wants to help you today with your needs. He loves you and he want to meet your needs. He has great plans for you. I challenge you to open His word and discover his plans. God’s plan is to restore your health and make you whole. Everything that you need for life and godliness, Jesus has already provided. You have to believe this and receive what Jesus has accomplished for you. His promises are our passport to our future.
