Expressions of faith
Made by God

Bishop Monterey D. Lee, Sr

“Know that the Lord He is God: it is He that has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with Thanksgiving and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him and bless His name for the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endures to all generations,” Psalm 100:3-5.

We may say that we were born of our parents, but God is at work behind the scenes making us what He wants us to be for His glory. Today’s Bible reading tells us that God created us and covered us in our mother’s womb—that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.

As believers, we have no say in how God made us, either male or female. What kind of home were you born into? A Christian or a non-Christian home? As the children of God we have so much to be thankful for—especially if we were born into a home with parents who loved us, cared for us and taught us about God and His salvation.

We should praise God for giving us sound minds to think rationally and make wise decisions. We should also thank God if we have learned to read the word and gain knowledge and understanding from it. The Bible benefits us morally and spiritually. We should thank God for making us in His own image.

As humans, we did not evolve from animals as some people think. They want to get away from their accountability to God. “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created He them,” Genesis 1:27.

God made us with a living soul. “The Lord God formed man out of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul,” Genesis 2:7.

We need to choose Heaven as our destiny and trust in God to help us get there one day. We should thank God that eternal life is available to everyone that will accept Him as Lord and Savior of the world.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believe in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His son into the world to condemn the world but through Him the world would be saved,” John 3:16-17.

Even if we were not born in a Christian home, we can choose eternal life and belong to the family of God today. You have been made by God, so choose Him and inherit everlasting life.
