Expressions of faith

Bishop-Elect Dr. Monterey D. Lee, Sr.

Jesus comforts His Disciples not to be troubled, and don’t be warred in spirit. If you believe in God, believe in me. One of Jesus’ purposes in coming to earth was to reveal through His words and deeds the true nature of the Father. I will not leave you orphans. So don’t be troubled by my departure.

Jesus had just told them that one of them would betray Him (John 13:21), the others would deny Him  (John 13:38): “You say unto me Peter that you will lay down your life for my sake. But I say unto you the cock shall not crow till you have denied me three times.”

But “l will be leaving you.” This troubled the disciples, yet Jesus told them: “Let not your heart be troubled. I must go to the Father for your sake. For I am the way to the Father, I am the way the truth and the life, and no one can come to the Father except through me.”

Jesus never wanted His disciples to be troubled. This is why He promised that we could have untroubled hearts even in a troubled life.

This text referred to the petition which must be made with only one view: that the father may be glorified by, or in, the Son.

Ask yourself a question. In whose name are you glorifying? And for whose sake is it made? Who is doing it? Seek not your own glory but the glory of God. Christ promised to do it for the glory of His Heavenly Father in the son’s and daughter’s.

This is a prayer addressed to the father, but the answer here is the Son—for the Son was one with the Father with no limitations but the promise of God: “Whatsoever you shall ask, and it is asked in My name, to do my will, my work, living in my spirit, seeking as I have sought to do the will of the Father.”

This is a personal petition that cannot be completed, except if it is for the glory of God. We cannot ask in ignorance for it will not be granted.

What are you attaching to your prayers through Jesus Christ our Lord. When you understand God, then you understand the will of God. This is what is heard for his chosen people.

The gift of the Holy Spirit is bestowed upon the disciples of Christ, and not on the world.

We must have a consciousness of God, not just his will or his purpose but Him as God.

God is ‘is-ness’ and his ‘is-ness’ is in you the sainted body of Christ. All Christians must ask in faith, and according to the will of God, it will be fulfilled.
