“I got a feeling everything is gonna be okay,” said Rev. Enoch Fuzz, pastor of Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church. This was the second part of a text that was sent from Rev. Fuzz when he was asked how he was doing.
Rev. Fuzz remains in a state of ‘quietness’ as he awaits surgeries scheduled for the month of November. As stated in previous weeks, his journey with stage four lung cancer has led to the growth of polyps on his vocal cords. He had surgery to remove polyps just a few weeks ago—only to have another grow on the other side. Nevertheless, he continues to watch over his family, church members and friends as they continue to watch over him.
“I’m continuing to be on voice rest,” said Rev. Fuzz. “I’m doing a lotta prayers for church members and being grateful for my family, especially my daughter, Bethani, who makes my health a priority. Also my Memphis family of two sisters who visit Nashville twice monthly to support their sick brother. I’ll say my church members, friends and family make me one of the most blessed people on earth. As I await surgeries in November I’m comforted every day by people helping me. It causes me to spend time figuring how I can give back. I’ve got a feeling that everything’s going to be okay.”
Throughout this journey, Rev. Fuzz continually counts his blessings, knowing that he cannot go through this alone. He recognizes those who give him the strength to ‘keep on’ day-after-day, situation-after-situation, time-after-time. Rev. Fuzz counts his blessings and keeps figuring out how to keep giving back. When you count your blessings, it gives you a certain positive feeling. And that feeling is one of being blessed. When you’re blessed, you’re summoned to be a blessing to others. And yes, even in silence, Rev. Fuzz knows that this is an extremely difficult challenge—but he will find a way to make it work for others. Amazing! That’s why my reply to his statement, “I got a feeling that everything’s gonna be okay,” is: “I have that same feeling.”
Continue to pray for Rev. Fuzz and the success of the surgeries he will soon have. There is power in prayer. Rev. Fuzz is always in continuous prayer for you and this whole world.
