This past week, Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church recognized the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. observance on Saturday, January 14. At 8 am members, friends and the community gathered at Corinthian Church as a part of this historic day of celebration and recognition.

The special guest speaker was Rev. Dr. Frank Stevenson, executive vice president of Tennessee State University and pastor of the City of Grace Baptist Church. Top Nashville developer, Tony Giarrintana was honored for his commitment to building affordable housing, along with Nashville Mayor John Cooper.

Rev. Enoch Fuzz, the pastor of Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, organized the gathering because he believes it is important to stay committed to the variety of issues that plague the city of Nashville. It was an especially important occasion to recognize someone attempting to resolve issues like affordable housing. With this in mind, it is also important to be a part of bringing together the presidents of the Nashville NAACP, the Greater Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Middle Tennessee Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Rev. Fuzz remains committed to the ideals and principles of Rev. Dr. King, while he continues to recover from stage four lung cancer.

Stay tuned next week as we hear more of Rev. Fuzz’s commitment to being a voice for the community, and his never-ending support for Nashville General Hospital and its tireless efforts to heal patients. The hospital has recently secured a van that will allow them to ensure patients are picked up for doctor appointments when they may not have transportation. We will also have an update on his condition with his journey with cancer.

While Rev. Fuzz stays committed, it is important for us all to stay committed to prayer for him. Also, pray for yourself, for your neighbor and for your world.
