Andre Bean, Ph. D. and Chair of the Homecoming Committee at TSU welcomes you to Homecoming 2024: “The Big Blue Experience”. The homecoming committee has been working tirelessly to ensure that this homecoming is one to be both remembered and enjoyed by all. They are excited to have each one of you return to “The Land of Golden Sunshine” to bask in the TSU spirit. Homecoming is a special time for the university. During this time, you can witness friends being reconnected, new memories being made, and alumni enjoying and displaying the Big Blue Spirit. Here are some highlights.

The excitement of homecoming begins on Saturday night, October 5, as the students will have the annual “Homecoming Balloon Drop Countdown”. This is a special time for TSU students to celebrate and usher in the homecoming season. On Sunday, October 6, the Robert N. Murrell Oratorical contest will take place on campus at 3 p.m. in the Floyd Payne Campus Center Forum. Wednesday night October 9, will bring a timeless tradition that has been ongoing for 90 plus years, and that is the Coronation of Mister and Miss Tennessee State University. Please contact the TSU Office of Alumni Relations for more information.

Friday, October 11, will bring some of Tennessee State’s classic homecoming festivities. The Charles Campbell Fish Fry will kickoff at ten o’clock in the morning, hosted by the Nashville Alumni Chapter of TSU. Following the Fish Fry, all are invited all to meet up in Hale Stadium, “The Hole”, for the unforgettable Homecoming Pep Rally. Come enjoy the award-winning Aristocrat of Bands (AOB), cheerleaders, live DJ, and more. While on campus, go back and visit your former resident halls and academic buildings as each will be decorated to celebrate and promote Big Blue cheer throughout campus. Friday evening will be home to the traditional Divine 9 Step Show in the Gentry Complex and the Homecoming Gala at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Saturday, October 12, the Homecoming Parade will go down Jefferson Street. This parade is always a great time, showcasing both the TSU and Nashville communities. The Grand Marshals and Homecoming Honorees for 2024 are Mr. Jesse Eugene Russell and Mrs. Clarice Phelps. These honorees have embodied the motto of THINK – WORK – SERVE in both their professional and personal lives and have made significant contributions to society.

Cap off the homecoming season at Nissan Stadium as the TSU Big Blue Fightin’ Tigers take on the Panthers of Eastern Illinois at five o’clock in the evening.
