Kappa Lambda Omega releases official trailer for trailblazing documentary chronicling 50 years of service, sisterhood

Kappa Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority celebrates its 50-year legacy with a documentary premiere on January 23, 2025, showcasing its impactful service and sisterhood in Nashville.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Kappa Lambda Omega Chapter, has debuted the official trailer for its upcoming feature-length documentary, To Capture A Vision Fair: Kappa Lambda Omega’s Golden Legacy of Sisterhood and Service.

The trailer can be viewed at <www.kappalambdaomega.com> and provides a sneak-peek at the chapter’s 50-year journey in Nashville and shares interviews from former presidents as well as imagery reflecting the chapter’s beginnings to its current influence. The documentary represents a trailblazing first for Kappa Lambda Omega, as it is the first film of its kind produced by a local chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority in the Middle Tennessee area.

In 2025, KLO will celebrate its 50th with a gala celebration slated on its actual Charter Day, Jan. 25.

“Join us in celebrating 50 incredible years of KLO,” said Chapter President Kelli Henderson.  “We invite all our amazing friends to come together for a special anniversary celebration. Let’s make unforgettable memories together.”

The original documentary will be unveiled during a Pink Carpet premiere on Jan. 23, 6:30 pm at the Belcourt Theater, located at 2102 Belcourt Avenue. Tickets are $20 per person and may be purchased at <www.belcourt.org>.

To Capture A Vision Fair is produced in association with 353 Media Group, an award-winning digital media production company. The documentary follows Kappa Lambda Omega’s uplifting 50-year journey of service and sisterhood in the greater Nashville community reflecting on the reason for chartering, early initiatives and milestones, and the chapter’s outstanding record of service.

Kappa Lambda Omega (KɅΩ) Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority was chartered in 1975 on the campus of Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. It represents one of more than 1,000 chapters of the sorority in the United States and internationally, and is the second graduate chapter established in the city of Nashville.

With more than 350 members, Kappa Lambda Omega continues to be a premiere chapter in the Middle Tennessee community and engages in numerous service initiatives, including signature programs such as the biennial Little Miss AKA Pageant, Home Mission Haven, Special Olympics of Tennessee, Stuff the Truck and Diaper Dash, along with providing thousands of dollars in scholarship support to deserving college-bound students.
