In celebration of Black History Month, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority’s (MNAA) Arts at the Airport kicked off its annual Black History Month Music Series at Nashville International Airport (BNA) on Feb. 6. MNAA’s Black History Month Music Series spotlights local bands and groups performing, commemorating and celebrating the sounds of the American Civil Rights Movement. 

“This exciting initiative showcases a diverse lineup of talented artists throughout February,” said airport officials.

The Nashville community and our travelers from across the globe will have the opportunity to hear the music that accompanied a major social movement in American history—from the marches and rallies to the quiet church gatherings.

Nashville International Airport’s free music series continues to support diversity through music year-round with various series including its Multicultural Music and Nashville Emerging Artists series. 

MNAA’s Black History Month Music Series are taking place on the C/D exit stage by Green Beans Coffee Co. and began with a noon performance from Will Davenport. Subsequent performances include: Feb 7, from noon to 2 pm, with the Steve Roper Band; Feb 12 from noon to 2 pm with the Joe West Duo; Feb 13 from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm—with a second performance from Will Davenport; February 20 from noon to 2 pm with The Yamil Conga Quartet; and Nate, Bean & 4Given on February 27 from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

Green Beans Coffee Co. is located in the pre-security area of the terminal. Travelers and locals are invited to enjoy these free, public performances featuring a variety of musical genres and styles.
