Expressions of faith

This message calls believers to spiritual renewal during Holy Lent through transformation, faith, and total commitment to God’s Word, living as the church and walking in righteousness.

Bishop-Elect Dr. Monterey D. Lee, Sr.

This is the time for spiritual renewal of the mind, soul and the body. This is the season of transformation—of the way a we think, feel, and receive the power of the Holy Spirit as it moves us to a place of reflecting on God’s word. We are transformed as  believers  to discern what is good, acceptable, and perfect according to the will/standard of God (Romans 12:2).

During this time of Holy Lent, we are to turn away from selfish sins and be faithful to Jesus Christ, the Gospel, and God’s Word. What transformation principles are we to undergo as we truly live this life in Christ?

  • Keep the time of Holy Lent sacred (Matthew 6:16-18).
  • Reveal to yourself your own struggles (1 Peter 5:6).
  • Take on new life that will free you (Isaiah 58:6-7).
  • Honor your choices (Colossians 2:16-17).
  • Seek inward thanking (Daniel 9:3).
  • Remember the sacrifice of Christ (John 3:16).

As a people committed to Christ, our actions reflect who we are and what we believe. We are committed to Christ as His people/church. We don’t attend church. We are the church.

For we are the organism of Christ as His body, not an organization of the church. In Christ we live in Him and have a total commitment to Him. We live by His word daily, pray daily, and meditate daily. This is what makes us one as the people of God.

In this text, Paul confirms God’s revealed word, which is the power of the gospel of faith to the churches that are in Rome and Galatia. As it is written, the just shall live by faith. Paul is reiterating Habakkuk’s word: “The just shall live by faith,” Habakkuk 2:4.

Paul reveals this word to the saints [the born again, the chosen, and the remnant]: “The just shall live by faith,” Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:1; and Hebrews 10:38.

This is a prophetic word describing what will happen in the future for the chosen people of God, you and I. For God foresees and knows what will happen in your life as a people of faith.

Paul looks deep into this word, seeing that the “righteous shall live by faith.”

God’s plan shows us how righteous He is concerning how the church is to be saved, how we are to be born again, and how we may be made fit for eternal life. Follow God’s word, and you will live in righteousness and faith. When you are anointed by God, your trust in Christ will be made whole and your relationship with God is made right.

God is co-creating with us together with His Son and the Holy Spirit. We are empowered by God for a specific purpose. This symbolizes God’s presence, favor, and power.

“This is why we are workers together with Him,” 2 Corinthians 6:1.
