Kennie Playhouse Theatre presents the WE UP! Youth Theater Festival

Experience Nashville’s vibrant youth talent at the WE UP! Youth Theater Festival by Kennie Playhouse Theatre. Six powerful performances—including the premiere of the youth-made film Thankless—run June 24–29 at the Z. Alexander Looby Theatre. Red Carpet kickoff June 21!

Kennie Playhouse Theatre proudly presents the WE UP! Youth Theater Festival. This exciting event features five youth – led plays and one film. The plays are “Masks” by Scott Mullen, “Social Media” by Debra Cole, “The Owl, The Bull, and The Forest” by D.M. Larson, “Cloud 9.45B” by Sarah Thewils, and “Fast Food” by Tracy Wells.

The festival will also premiere the film “Thankless,” which showcases the talents of all participating youth. Youth ages 8 – 18 from Nashville and surrounding areas will showcase their acting, technical, and production skills, honed over the course of three weeks. These energetic and thought-provoking performances will be presented in repertory, offering both locals and visitors from around the country an engaging experience.

Join them for the Red Carpet Carnival Style Opening on Saturday, June 21, at 5 PM. The shows will run from Tuesday, June 24 through Sunday, June 29, with performances at 10 AM and 2 PM.
