More Davidson County homeowners than ever before are eligible to lock their property tax payments from rising or to receive payment relief. However, the application deadline is fast-approaching.
There are just a few weeks left to apply for the Property Tax Freeze and Tax Relief programs before the Saturday, April 4th, 2026 deadline. Metropolitan Trustee Erica S. Gilmore is committed to reaching out to ensure that all eligible Nashvillians are aware of these financial savings and encouraged to apply.
There are some key program overview points you should be aware of.
The Property Tax Freeze locks in property tax payment amounts, preventatively stopping the parcel’s taxes from rising as a result of reappraisals. Older Davidson County property owners, ages 65 and up, whose 2024 qualified income did not exceed $61,920 are eligible for this benefit.
The Metropolitan Trustee’s Tax Relief program reduces homeowners’ property taxes. 100% disabled veterans who became disabled through service (or their surviving spouses) can apply for Tax Relief without proof of income. Older homeowners and certain disabled homeowners can qualify if they meet income qualifications. Homeowners ages 65 and up, along with homeowners who are disabled (through the Social Security Administration) whose 2024 qualified income did not exceed $37,530 can receive this relief.
Davidson County homeowners are encouraged to apply now through the Office of Metropolitan Trustee, located in the Howard Office Building, President Ronald Reagan Way, Suite 220, Nashville, TN 37210.
The documents required to successfully apply for the programs can be found Metropolitan Trustee Erica S. Gilmore’s website: Nashville.gov/trustee or by calling the Trustee’s Office at (615) 862-6330. Don’t wait; go online and/or call today.
