Cheekwood Estate & Gardens has welcomed a new culinary addition, as Perenn at Cheekwood is now open, offering visitors a fresh, garden-inspired dining experience on its scenic grounds.

The all-day café and bakery officially opened May 1, becoming Perenn’s fourth location in the Nashville area and continuing the brand’s rapid growth since launching its first Tennessee location in 2025. Known for its artisanal pastries, handcrafted breads and commitment to high-quality ingredients, Perenn has quickly built a loyal following.

Co-founders Tyler and Aubrey O’Laskey said the Cheekwood location reflects the same craftsmanship and hospitality that define the brand, while drawing inspiration from the surrounding gardens. The husband-and-wife team, who are also Cheekwood members, said the setting aligns naturally with Perenn’s philosophy.

The name ‘Perenn,’ derived from ‘perennial,’ reflects the couple’s love of gardens and the idea of growth and renewal—an approach that influences both their food and their community-focused spaces.

The café features Perenn’s signature offerings, including pastries, cookies, croissants and house-made breads, alongside a seasonal menu designed to complement the garden environment. Guests can enjoy breakfast sandwiches on house-milled sourdough, fresh salads, a garden club sandwich and other light fare, along with a full espresso and tea selection.

“We’ve always believed that where you enjoy a meal matters just as much as what the meal is,” the O’Laskeys said. “Cheekwood is one of the most beautiful and meaningful spaces in Nashville, and being part of it is incredibly special to us.”

Located in the Frist Learning Center courtyard in the former Café 29 space, Perenn operates during Cheekwood’s regular hours, offering visitors a new way to experience the gardens through food, hospitality and atmosphere.
