Advance Financial holds first annual day of service

Advance Financial volunteers at the Nashville Food Project.

Employees from the Nashville-based financial services company, Advance Financial, volunteered for non-profits across the state last week.

The unique statewide program on May 8 was an outgrowth of the company’s long-standing commitment to being deeply involved in the communities it serves.

“As a team, we love bonding outside of the office, so to be able to give back to our neighbors while also spending time with each other made for a great day,” said Shantrelle Johnson, vice president of corporate citizenship for Advance Financial. “We look forward to planning our next Day of Service.”

In coordination with Hands On Nashville, employees volunteered in Chattanooga, the Tri-Cities, Knoxville, Jackson and Nashville at a range of non-profit organizations, including the Chattanooga Food Bank, Second Harvest of Northeast Tennessee, YWCA of Knoxville, Regional Interfaith Association, Special Olympics, Nashville Food Project, Nashville Public Library-Pruitt Branch, Tennessee Higher Education, Youth Villages of Middle Tennessee, Cheekwood, Eighteenth Avenue Family Enrichment Day and Bellevue Community Garden.

Advance Financial, founded in 1996, is a family owned and operated financial center based in Nashville, Tenn. The company currently operates more than 85 locations throughout Tennessee and employs over 900 employees.
