AC Dentistry opens in Bordeaux

Two North Nashville childhood friends, Dr. Hari McGowan and Dr. Judson Wood are proud to announce the opening of the fourth location of Associated Children’s Dentistry in Bordeaux.

Two North Nashville childhood friends are expanding a pediatric dental practice of 30 years to their native neighborhood. Dr. Judson Wood, Dr. Hari McGowan, and the Associated Children’s Dentistry family are opening AC Dentistry – Bordeaux. Located at 3942 Clarksville Pike, the new office opens as the fourth location of the AC Dentistry practice.

Associated Children’s Dentistry (AC Dentistry), formerly named Dr. Wood, DDS Children’s Dentistry, has history deeply rooted in Nashville. Amidst the socio-political climate of Nashville in the late ‘60s, the late Dr. Robert Wood, Sr., a graduate of Indiana University School of Dentistry and professor at Meharry Medical College, School of Dentistry, began his home-based general dentistry office located on Buena Vista Pike in the Bordeaux neighborhood of North Nashville. His son, the late Dr. Eric K. Wood, Sr., followed in his footsteps. After graduating from Meharry Medical College, School of Dentistry and completing his pediatric certification at Emory University, Dr. Wood, Sr. established his first pediatric office in 1998 in South Nashville. He later moved the office to Goodlettsville, and eventually expanded the practice with two other offices located downtown Nashville and in Mt. Juliet.

Half a century later, Dr. Judson Wood continues the legacy of both his father and grandfather. The once home-based office has now grown into a thriving pediatric dental practice with four convenient locations, dedicated to providing quality dental care to youth in Nashville.

As childhood friends, neighbors and natives of North Nashville, Dr. Wood and Dr. McGowan are excited to serve the community where they were born and raised. The two matriculated through the Nashville Public School system together, graduated from Meharry Medical College, School of Dentistry and completed their pediatric dental residency at Metro Health Hospital and Case Western Reserve in Cleveland Ohio. They are both honored and consider it a privilege to be able to continue to transform what began as a family-owned dental practice into a premier pediatric dental practice serving Nashville and surrounding communities.

Dr. Judson Wood proudly reflects his dad’s motto: ‘We treat each child as if they are our own.’

“It’s an honor to continue the strong legacy we have in the community I grew up in, and where my grandfather started it all. Sometimes when I think about it, I can’t believe how much the practice has grown.”

Dr. Hari McGowan said: “Our families were neighbors and we pretty much grew up together. Dr. Eric Wood, Sr. was my dentist and I can attest to the fact that I was treated like one of his own. I never would have thought we would be continuing his legacy in this manner. I’m just happy to be able to continue the growth of something that was a part of my childhood. It is truly an honor and privilege.”

AC Dentistry is a pediatric dentistry practice that has proudly served Nashville and the surrounding areas for 30 years. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive dental care in a comfortable and fun environment for our patients and their parents. Our friendly staff is highly trained and prepared to provide quality care for your child in their own unique way. With four convenient locations in Goodlettsville, downtown Nashville, Mt. Juliet and Bordeaux, AC Dentistry is accessible via major highways.

The new office in Bordeaux, which is just 15 minutes north of downtown Nashville, will continue to uphold the practice’s high standards in providing affordable, comprehensive pediatric dental care.
