Is it time for a spiritual overhaul?

There are some individuals that received salvation but still do and say things that are not Gods’ will for their lives. Some believers try to endure and do things on their own. There are some who try to find solutions in worldly things. Is your helper God? Or is your helper something other than God? What do you do when worldly ideas fail? Did you forget that there is someone who can meet all your needs?

Many people living in the world do not think about God. They think mainly about self, others, or things to supply their needs. This is the world’s way of thinking. The world’s way is saying: “I want what I want, and I’ve got to have it now or else.” When we think only about our fleshly desires, we are not considering the impact our decisions may have on anyone other than self. We do not consider the lasting effects of our decisions. We do not consider that our decisions impact others around us. The decisions that you make today can have a lasting impact upon your entire life.

Your spiritual health decision can have an impact on others around you, too—a direct impact upon your eternal destination. So, choose wisely because your life is depending upon the choices you make today. Think about where you want to spend eternity. When you die and leave this earth, where will you go? Will you go to be with Jesus in heaven? Or will you go to hell? God has given you a choice. “I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. So, choose life in order that you and your descendants might live,” Deuteronomy 30:19.

When you have to make any decision, you should seek God first. Seek God now and his way of doing things and all other things you need will be added unto you. Seek God’s way, not the world’s way. First, be sure that you have already committed your life to Jesus. Make Him Lord of your Life. This is your first and most important step in order to receive from God. Once you put God first, all your other needs will come to you. What does He mean when He says to seek Him first? God is saying to seek his way of doing things first. Seek your salvation first. What do you spend your time doing? Do you spend your time acquiring worldly riches? Or do you spend your time seeking after the things of Gods’ Kingdom? Worldly riches are temporary. They will fade away. Seek Godly riches. They are eternal. Your riches are found in Christ. If you take care of God’s business, then He will take care of yours.

Do you spend your time acquiring money and goods that will perish, or do you spend time serving God or doing good deeds that will live on for eternity? God has promised in Philippians 4:19 to supply our every need, but His idea of what we need is different than ours.

A great example is recorded in the Bible in Job 2-3 of how God supplied Jobs’ needs after he was attacked by the devil. God is no respecter of persons. He did it then, and he certainly can supply your needs now. Spend time with God and study his word because it will transform you into the image God desires.
