What do you want God to do for you? Before you answer this question, think about all you have done to be obedient to His will. How did you see Him in these moments? “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need,” Matthew 6:33.
As we take the time to reflect over the year of 2023 and all that has transpired in our lives, be sure to have eyesight to see the fullness of all God has done. We tend to focus on the bad and good, but never the in between times that God sees as important as well.
Maybe you have been like Peter was in the boat, after ministering and assisting Jesus with feeding the 5000 men plus women and children, you were tested in between your destination journey. “Then Peter called to him, ‘Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.’ “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So, Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. ‘Save me, Lord!’ he shouted. Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. ‘You have so little faith,’ Jesus said. ‘Why did you doubt me?’” Mathew 14:28-31, NLT.
Some have been tested within this ‘in-between’ space. Know that this time is not insignificant or just a space filler. God ordained this time as preparation for the vision He gives you for your future. Peter was within moments of walking into a vision of seeing the Lord Jesus Christ in a new way than ever before but was distracted by the storm in his ‘in between’ state. The in between space of your past and your future is a significant lesson of trust with God. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths,” Proverbs 3:5-6.
The question has been posed, ‘What do you want God to do for you?’ As you answer, remember to have the eyesight of God. Think positively of the forward movement He is taking you in. Think past the things that happened in your life this year that you didn’t like or follow completely as God ordained. These negatives have been nothing but storms amid your steps to seeing Jesus. “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint,” Isaiah 40:31. Don’t focus on the inhabitants below the dimension for which God has propelled you. Stay focused and not distracted by the noise you hear below but remain ahead, and seek your vision with God.
Vision is the act or power of anticipating that which will or may come to be. The way you envision God is the way you will envision your future. Stay focused on Him and seek His Kingdom above all else! Everything you want and desire is already answered as your vision becomes clearer. End 2023 with your mind on God and be focused for 2024. Envision the God within!
