
“I Am Queen: Nashville” is a one-night-only, live-on-stage theatrical production that features the true stories of real women who help make Nashville…home. You may think you know the women of Nashville, but you’ll get to know them like never before. Through acting, song, and dance, share the engaging, open-hearted, true, and intimate stories of eight Nashville queens. This experience is equal parts living history, legacy, and art.
From activism to entrepreneurship and from art to empowerment, these women show up in powerful ways for their communities, for our city, and for themselves. Be reminded of your own royalty as this Epoch Tribe production explores the extraordinary journeys of the 2025 Class of Music City Queens.
“I Am Queen” is a theatrical storytelling production that features the real-life stories of Black women. “I Am Queen: Nashville” is a part of a larger storytelling project to tell the stories of Black women across the South. Nashville is the one of the host cities where they have gathered stories to explore the journeys, joys, pain, triumphs and the many ways that Black women prove themselves royal each and every day.
“I Am Queen” is produced by, written by, directed by, starring and featuring the stories of Black women. This work is equal parts living history, legacy and art. And Epoch Tribe makes it for the enjoyment of all. In each host city, they seek out the names of Black women who are the heartbeat of the community. Those who move the community with their work, words and wisdom. These women are more than their professions or titles – they’re Black women who help do what it takes to make Nashville the beautiful place they call home.
Experience each of their stories live onstage at “I Am Queen: Nashville” in the James K. Polk Theater of Nashville’s Tennessee Performing Arts Center. The show begins promptly at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19.
