Upsilon Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. will present the 32nd Scholarship Awards (RHOMANIA) on Saturday, March 15, 10 am, at Temple Church located at 3810 Kings Lane, Nashville. The Scholarship Awards Brunch is the group’s main fundraiser to support its scholarship program.
Students from Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools and surrounding county high schools will be honored for their outstanding academic achievements during their four-year tenure as secondary school students. Four students will be awarded the Pearl Allen Bryant Cultured Pearl Scholarship and Motivational Book Grants, e.g., The Hattie Johnson Bond Book Grant, The Ruby H. Mosbey Book Grant and The Kinnard Legacy Book Grant.
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., organized on November 12, 1922 at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana by seven young educators, is recognized as a leading non-profit international collegiate, community service organization whose commitment to service is expressed in its slogan ‘Greater Service, Greater Progress.’
In keeping with the mission goal to enhance the quality of life within the community, Sigma Gamma Rho has developed national initiatives that address varied needs of youth and women throughout the world. The sorority continues to actively address the concerns that impact society educationally, civically and economically around the globe.
