The United Methodist Women of Clark Memorial United Methodist Church, 1014 14th Ave. N., will host their Annual Women’s Day on Sunday, May 19th.

“We invite the Nashville community to join the women of Clark Memorial United Methodist Church for a heart-warming experience, “said Kimberly Goods, chairperson of the women’s weekend activities.

With a chosen theme for this year, “Living the Heart of God: Having a Heart on Fire,” Goods says, “Hearts should not burn from pain, but from the love of God.”

The women’s weekend will begin on Saturday, May 18th with a special presentation and fellowship with Thistle Farms, a social enterprise of women who have survived lives of prostitution, trafficking, addiction, and “life on the streets.” At 11:00 a.m. the program will begin with Anika Rogers, one of Clark’s members, and other participants from the program will share their testimonies.

Following the presentations, a free lunch will be served to all in attendance.

Thistle Farms is financially supported by their creation of hand-made natural body care products.

On Sunday, May 19th, the guest speaker, Dr. Jocelyn Briddell, Executive Director of the Scarritt-Bennett Center will speak at 8:00 a.m. and 10:45 worship services.
