Despite the campaign by Lt. Gov. Ramsey, Tennesseans have voted to retain Chief Justice Gary Wade and Justices Connie Clark and Sharon Lee.

“We took our case to the voters. We asked them to consider false statements, mis-statements, distortions and to make their own judgments about us,” Clark said. “I think they’ve spoken loud.”

Brenda Wynn also won re-election as County Clerk, defeating her Republican challenger with 37,644 votes to 22,014 votes. Additionally, Carol McCoy won her re-election bid for Chancelor defeating her Republican opponent 36,756 votes to 23,402 votes.

Other notable elections include Linda Jones’ victory over Adam Dread for General Sessions Judge Division 9, Russell Perkins victory for Chancellor, Judge Rachel Bell’s re-election, and Melissa Blackburn’s election to General Sessions Judge Div. 2.

Governor Bill Haslam and Senator Lamar Alexander both won the Republican nomination for their respective offices.
