If you are the mother of a teenage girl, you are probably familiar with the cheerleading movie Bring It and the dance series entitled Bring It. When someone says “bring it,” what the person is really saying is “do your best, or give your best.” ‘Bring it’ are battle words.

In life we face many struggles, challenges, and battles. We are constantly up against the enemy, and we can count on him to ‘bring it.’ In Psalm 91, we learn that the devil will bring it, but so can we: “You will not fear the terror of the night, or the arrow that flies by day, or the pestilence that stalks in darkness, or the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only look with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked,” Psalms 98, 7-8. There’s nothing that the devil brings that we cannot overcome. Bring it! When evil lurks and fires its darts and arrows, all we have to do is bring it. The evil that is brought is in the form of hatred, jealousy, division, doubt, selfishness, greed, lust, pride, and insecurities. The devil brings all of this to hurt and kill us. Often we are paralyzed with fear and worry when things get complicated in our lives, and evil spirits began to become active. Rather than meeting going into battle with them, we give up, because we do not believe that we can win. We choose to give into an authority that really has no power over us. All we have to do is bring it.

Don’t be afraid of it or surprised by it—because we, too, have something to bring. Like American Express, we cannot leave home with it. We must bring it with our faith, our trust in God, and our promise of protection. We ‘bring it,’ not with dance moves or cheer stunts, but with prayer, the Bible, and fasting. We all have something to meet and defeat the evil one. No matter what the devil brings, we can come out victorious if we ‘bring it.’

‘Bringing it’ does not mean that we will have an instant taste of victory. What it means is that if we continue to bring it, we will win end the end. As long as we ‘bring it,’ whatever is happening on our right or left side will not matter. We are still winning, even if it looks like we are losing. Tell the wicked ones to bring it. Bring whatever, but be prepared—because those who dwell in the shelter of the Most High, and who love God are ‘bringing it.’ We can ‘bring it,’ because over 2,000 years ago God brought Jesus into the world. Bring it!
