With a big ‘70s theme, Alwanda Carothers and the Melting Pot Band held a big 60th birthday celebration for long-time leader of the band, William Carothers.

August 7 will be a night to remember for William.

The upstairs party room at Ella Jean’s Cafe was packed with family, friends and local musicians sharing William’s big day.

“I knew there was gonna be a party, but I didn’t expect so many people,” said William as he seemed completely surprised and excited that everyone showed up to celebrate with him.

Jimmy Church and many other musicians came with their instruments and shared in the music while other guests were dressed in their favorite ‘70s garb complete with ‘boogie shoes.’
