Members, friends, and city leaders joined Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church and Rev. Enoch Fuzz as they celebrated the anniversary of Corinthian’s 60th birthday.
The members of the Pastor’s Aid Society also made a special weekend at the end of September when they celebrated ‘The Best Pastor in the Whole Wide World’ on September 25 at an open celebration for Rev. Fuzz with the public invited to a fish fry to celebrate his birthday.
His family drove from Memphis to begin this weekend celebration that began with “the fish that got away.” His mother, Mrs. Fuzz, wanted to go fishing when she arrived on Friday. Her son (Fuzz) his sister and others did go fishing.
However, the story of the day was how Rev. Fuzz snagged a HUGE fish—but as he tried to get the net to get it, it broke the line and got away.
The fish fry was well-attended and had all the trimmings, spaghetti, cole slaw, beans, bread, Coke and water.
Following the meal, attendees moved into the sanctuary where a simple worship service was held.
Participants were the Corinthian choir and the First Baptist South Inglewood Male Chorus.
That too, was complete with ‘all the trimmings,’ great music and a great word from Rev. Napelon Harris, pastor of First Baptist South Inglewood.
The weekend culminated with a Sunday morning worship service. Dwight Beard, led the service while other participants on the program included: Bill Freeman; Sister Betty Lane; the Corinthian Children’s Church; Rachel Thomas, attorney; Councilman Jamie Isabell; special music by Sandra Bullock; and message from Judge Richard Dinkins.
