Tennessee Women in Film & Media to recognize Mayor Megan Barry with Beacon of Light Award on International Women’s Day

The Nashville based non profit organization, Tennessee Women in Film & Media (TWIFM) will present their first “Beacon of Light” award to Nashville Mayor Megan Barry during their International Women’s Day Celebration on Tuesday March 8, 2016.

During the course of the event, a series of Women in Film & Television International’s, WIFTI – Shortcase films will be screened. WIFTI – Shortcase is one of the many ways Women in Film and Television International fosters the work of women filmmakers around the world. Championing films in all genres; created, developed and produced by women is inline with the mission of WIFTI and helps filmmakers and filmworkers the industry move forward. According to Executive Director, Carol Bidault de L’Isle, “Until the statistics change WIFTI will be on the frontline building relationships and creating opportunities for women in the media industry and are happy to bring the 2016 Showcase to Nashville.”

TWIFM’s International Women’s Day Celebration and Beacon of Light Award presentation is a public event. There is no charge for members of TWIFM and International Women in Film. Join us on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, #9 Lea Avenue, Nashville, Tennessee. 6:00pm-9:00pm.
