Manna Storehouse Ministries, a new outreach arm of Second Missionary Baptist Cooperative Ministries of the Second Missionary Baptist Church (SMBC), 1000 Halcyon Ave. Nashville, Tenn. 37204 will now providing food assistance and community support.

The ministry founded by overseer Rev. Calvin Barlow will provide food items at significantly lower costs to recipients of federal assistance and to the general public. It was created specifically to combat the epidemic of hunger and low nutrition in our communities.

Since the high cost of groceries is one that impacts all people, the ministry serves to help save individuals and families countless dollars by reducing their food and household items costs.

Patrons who utilize food assistance can make a donation for the discounted foods using their food cards. Non-assistance patrons may make a donation with multiple forms of tender.

In addition to this ministry providing food and other household items, it will also provide postnatal care and nutritional supplies to mothers of the community. Second Missionary Baptist Church, through Manna Storehouse Ministries, is now able to provide reduced cost food assistance, subsequently contributing to the basic needs of individuals and families and the community at large.

Signing up for membership is easy. Contact the ministry through its e-mail or call for an application. For individuals utilizing federal assistance, provide sufficient identification and receive increased reductions on food costs.

Foods sold through the outreach ministry are donated through local benevolence.

The church is located in the Edgehill area of town, but the food ministry and church doors are open to anyone in need of the services. Rev. Barlow and his team understand the occasional or ongoing struggle of there being more month than money. This often increases or adds to the stress of budgeting and having to decide how to best utilize their budget.

Poor nutrition and the lack of wholesome foods, fruits vegetable and dairy goods often contribute to academic deficits. In short, if a child isn’t hungry, chances are they can concentrate on their education and do well with their studies. The benefits for nursing mothers increase when there is sufficient food for a balanced diet.

That can certainly be said for any human who doesn’t have to worry as much about where the next wholesome meal is coming from. Manna Storehouse Ministries will prove to be a beacon of light at the end of some proverbial dark tunnels.

This is an exclusive discount food program, created to combat hunger and save Nashville’s residents unnecessary strife and money. For additional information call 615-298-1832.
