It’s not just breakfast. One Nashville Community Awareness (ONCA) served breakfast on April 1 and April 15.

Members, friends, and the community joined ONCA and Rev. Enoch Fuzz at Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, 319 33rd Avenue North, for a meeting over breakfast. Community representatives met in an effort to combat issues in the community to learn what needs to be done to take action in joining one to another to create solutions to these issues.

Rev. Fuzz made a point of noting the lack of interest from the Mayor’s Office. I’ve never really seen those people who didn’t come back after election time, stating: “That lady didn’t come. The U.S. Attorney always comes, the business leaders, neighborhood associations, the police, pastors.” He said the mayor should have at the least sent a representative.

“That’s not how you treat our citizens,” Rev. Fuzz said. “At election time we see all types of people, and I have always taken pride in the fact that they always return to the community.

“There are good people in this community. This city if full of awesome folks that are never brought together.”

He introduced a variety of individuals, organizations and elected officials to the need to pull people together in order to work together. It is his idea that all things must work together in the community to form a great community.

These Saturday breakfast meetings will be held each month with different organizations coming together so that “we learn to work together.”
