Every Christian is responsible to live a life that glorifies God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says: “Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatsoever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
It is the responsibility of the child of God to be a true ambassador for the work of the Kingdom of God. “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ,” 2 Corinthians 5:20.
Most Christians want to be used of God, because it is not enough just to know Him or to worship Him. It is a joy to be used by Him. How? Where do we start? What is involved?
To be effective in God’s work, you must allow Gods word to fill your mind so you will know how to live in order to become someone He can use. “How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you,” Psalm 119:9-11.
No one can be an effective Christian unless Christ is at work within him or her. He gives you the power and ability to complete His work in you. Acts 1:8 says: “Ye shall receive power after that the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and ye shall be my witnesses.”
The evidence of living the Christian life or a spirit-filled life is:
1) Victory over your adversary (Genesis 5:16)
2) The power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8)
3) Love for your fellow man (John 3:34-35)
As we walk along God’s pathway, the evidence of being victorious, powerful, and loving will increase purpose in your life to remain true workers in the earth realm for the Kingdom of God. Why is it that some believers grow in Christ to become mature, well balanced, and faithful Christians, while others spend most of their lives defeated, frustrated, and unproductive? To live the Christian Life it takes dedication, surrendering to Jesus Christ as Lord of your life, and walking according to His ways. Psalms 25:4-5 reads: “Show me your ways, oh Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my savior, and my hope is in you all day long.”
The Christian life will always be challenged by the adversary, but we are more than conquerors when we completely trust in the Lord. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight,” Proverbs 3:5-6.
Take time in your life each day to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer, reading of the Holy Word, and meditation. When Jesus is at the center of your life, He provides the direction that is needed for a balanced life.
Jesus is our example of how to stay on the right pathway, because He faced both the pressure of the adversary and the temptation of sin. Make up your mind that you will not listen to any alternatives to God’s pathway for your life. Stay true and chosen to where God is leading you as you live the Christian life.
