Nina Turner, president of the newly formed Our Revolution spoke to a crowd at TSU about getting out the vote on February 24. Tennessee ranks 40th in the nation in voter registration and last in voter turnout.
Encouraging listeners to “move, protest, and plan,” Turner said: “You need to think.”
Founded by U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders during the 2016 presidential election, Our Revolution is centered on the goals of revitalizing American democracy, empowering progressive leaders, and elevating the overall political consciousness of citizens.
Turner urged Tennesseans to work together, “because this isn’t just a fight for African Americans. It is a fight for all races to get what they deserve.”
