Last summer, the inaugural #BeautyNIC captivated Nashville’s Centennial Park and set a precedence for the beauty industry. Tanya Davis is the visionary and founder of #BeautyNIC. The event is a product of the popular top-rated radio and television show I Just Got My Hair Did. The I Just Got My Hair Did media personality team is comprised of founder/host Chris Bond; producer/host Yolonda ‘Yolo Bee’ Beech; and executive producer, Tanya Davis, who host Nashville’s first hair talk show. The show airs every Saturday at 5 pm on 92.1, WQQK, a Cumulus Station and Bounce TV daily. The show has received top ratings and a wide listener and viewership in the short time it has been on the air.
The 2017 event was a major success and will take place this year on Sunday, July 29 again at Centennial Park. The general area will be where the de-commissioned military aircraft are stationed. This day in the park is the place to be for adults and kids of all ages, so save the date and pencil it in.
#BeautyNIC has something for everyone, ranging from an assortment of vendors, food trucks, a car show, a bike show and some of the best entertainment in the Mid-South. The latter include Gospel; Jazz; Rhythm & Blues; and ‘Rappino,’ musicians to the spoken word and more. The #BeautyNIC is an appreciation for beauty industry professionals, as well as a way to say ‘thank you’ and to acknowledge all the clients that support them. The popular show hosts and the highly rated, I Just Got My Hair Did radio and television show could not be ‘#1’ without them. The I Just Got My Hair Did hosts and organizers are expecting attendees from Nashville as well as guests who hail from other places, to bring their kids.
#BeautyNIC is a family oriented event and if this year is anything like last year’s event, organizers are expecting even more kids to attend with their parents or guardians. Organizers are asking for additional assistance and sponsorship to fulfill their goal of passing out 300 or more, supply-filled backpacks to them.
“Grandparents, parents, family, and friends will have a wonderful, memorable time indeed,” said Tanya Davis. “This special day will be anything but boring. There are many ways and options to enjoy and take in the full cycle of #BeautyNIC—such as bringing your own food or checking out the food vendor trucks. Be ready to participate in the potato sack races or the many other games for kids and the entire family. Of course, all children must be supervised for their own safety. There are still opportunities for sponsorships, vendors, and volunteers
