Blues, Jazz, R&B and Hip-Hop come together in Nashville with national and local artists showcasing the rich musical history of Music City for the 19th annual Jefferson Street Jazz & Blues Festival. A special performance from Valerie Simpson of Ashford & Simpson, the iconic songwriting duo, will be the main event on Saturday evening, June 15.
The Jefferson Street United Merchants Partnership (J.U.M.P.) will kick off the 19th annual Jefferson Street Jazz & Blues Festival (JJBF) weekend with a Bridging the Gap Mixer: SoBro Block Party. It will be held between 5th Ave S. and Demonbreun (Omni Hotel area) on Friday, June 14. The Jazz & Blues Festival itself will return to the Bicentennial Mall & State Park on Saturday, June 15th.
Friday’s “Bridging the Gap: SoBro Block Party” Mixer will feature a performance from the legendary Chubb Rock, along with local favorites Bizz & Everyday People and Louis York. Saturday’s line-up for the 19th Annual Jazz & Blues Festival features Jazz, Blues and R&B acts from local legends like Herchel Bailey and Stacy Mitchhart, along with national artist Mike Phillips and Valerie Simpson.

Nashville may be known for Country music, but or rich history includes several genres of soul-filled sounds that lived in many night clubs along Jefferson Street,” said Sharon W.
