Terry Dickerson celebrates retirement at Princess Hot Chicken.

Family, friends, co-workers and church members gathered at Princess Hot Chicken on Thompson Lane to celebrate the retirement of Terry Dickerson in late September. Yes, Princess Hot Chicken was the location of a wonderful banquet used to celebrate in grand style. Mario Hambrick served as the master of ceremonies, as the guest of honor entered the room decorated in the colors of the Pittsburgh Steelers!

Following the entrance of the retiree, guests were greeted by Lamont Banks. A prayer was offered for the occasion and meal by Tim Holt.

Dickerson spent 31 years employed with Pepsi Cola following his employment at the Coca Cola Company. He worked in the production facility on Thompson Lane. Over the years, he worked as a forklift operator as well as at special events, in sales, vending and production. Terry’s retirement began with an extended vacation. However, he plans to continue his concession business, Candyland Concessions. His company participates in activities where they sell cotton candy, candy apples, funnel cakes, and fresh-squeezed lemonade.

While Terry celebrated his retirement at Princess Hot Chicken, he chose the new facility on Thompson Lane when his friend offered that he could celebrate at “the shack!” They enjoyed a selection of different flavored chicken fingers and other great eats, two great cakes. A DJ and dancing were also part of the mix.

“This is a great celebration for me with my co-workers, friends, and church members of Greater Saint John,” said Terry.

The program also included a fun-filled roasting of the honoree by Mario Hambrick, James McClain, Robert Hicks, and George Adebanjo along with friends from the floor.
