Tom Steyer receives endorsements from Black leaders in Tennessee

Tom Steyer

Presidential candidate Tom Steyer has received the endorsements of African American leaders from across Tennessee. Tom’s support continues to grow as the Steyer campaign gains traction among business owners, faith leaders, and community leaders.

Steyer earned endorsements from Clifton Harris, President and CEO of the Urban League of Middle Tennessee, Edward “Ed” Kindall, former Nashville Metro Council Member, and Thomas “Tank” Strickland, former Knoxville Community Relations Director.

Recent polls conducted by The Post and Courier showed Tom earning 24% support among black voters in South Carolina, only six points behind first-placed Joe Biden.

“Tom’s extensive work with black and brown communities continues to draw support from African Americans throughout our state,” explained Tennessee State Director Tequila Johnson. “Our campaign is the only one listening to marginalized communities and speaking directly to their issues”

The endorsements come as the campaign builds capacity towards the March 3rd primary election. In Tennessee there continues to be a focus on community lead organizing and outreach with a commitment to building a diverse coalition to take on Donald Trump.
