Worldwide healing

Min. Delores (Lois) Brown

We have to start somewhere.

Over the last couple of months, we have witnessed from the news media, coverage of the injustice and corruption and inhuman mistreatment of African Americans that have been murdered and killed by police officers nationwide, which has sparked massive rioting and protesting. As a result, people flooded the streets to protest police brutality against African Americans, with the latest victims being George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and other African Americans who have lost their lives.

Combating police brutality: With people all across the country protesting and marching to condemn police violence demanding justice, and declaring unequivocally that ‘Black Lives Matter,’ Congress must do more than decry police brutality, racial profiling, and the excessive use of force against African Americans. We live in a nation that say’s “Freedom and Liberty to all,” which means this has to be displayed to all of humanity.

Quincy Jones, produced a song some years ago with some prominent recording artists entitled ‘We Are the World.’ The lyrics start out saying: “The world must come together as one, because people are DYING. We are the world; we are God’s children; we are the ones to make a brighter day, so let’s start living!” It has been 35 years since ‘We Are the World’ was recorded. The words and music are just as relevant as they were then.

It’s time for us to begin the ‘healing process,’ and for us to move forward. When do we start? The time is NOW! Now, is the time to bury the face of racism plaguing this nation for too long. And for the world to come together in Love, Peace and Harmony.

If we are the World, we need to put forth our best efforts to make this world a better place in which we can live.

As a result of George Floyd’s death and others, we are praying that solidarity and unity of all mankind will come together as one.

The healing is taking place right before our eyes, as we witness racist statues and monuments being removed, this is a sign of the healing process taking place as needed.

And to all of the parents and family members that have lost loved one’s to police brutality, our hearts are indeed empathetic with yours, and you will have our continuous prayers for your healing.

George Floyd’s daughter said one thing: “My father’s death will change this world.” Yes, indeed, she was correct. His death was not in vain.

Before I leave this world, I have ‘sincere faith’ that people will be judged by the content of their character, and not by the color of their skin.

I am an advocate to ‘Save This World,’ to be a better place in which we can live in unity and harmony.
