Expressions of Faith: Waiting on God

Bishop-Elect Dr. Monterey D. Lee, Sr.

Isaiah gives Israel these words to usher them into God’s presence. God is aware of your needs, and He is able and available to come through on your behalf. The only place you can find what you need is with God. As you wait, don’t be not weary. Waiting is a sign of patience. Worrying is a sign of being impatient (Isaiah 40:28-31).

Israel continually sinned and rebelled against their covenant-keeping God through unbelief and in their foolishness. So Isaiah wrote almost 40 chapters of reproof to rebuke them for their unbelief and to ask them an everlasting question.

Do you not know, have you not heard that the everlasting God [Yahweh], the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, faints not, nether is He weary?

There is no searching of His understanding. He gives power to the faint, and to them that have no might he increases strength.

Israel you cannot trust your own sufficiency or strength. God is not looking at your quality or state of being physically strong. He is looking for how spiritually strong you are. God looks at how strong you are on the inside. When you build spiritual strength, it activates your spirit and connects you to the divine power and presence of God from within. It gives you the power you need to live a life of purpose and fulfillment. This is why you must have values, beliefs and purpose in your life that demonstrate [explains] who God is in your life.

Who is God in your life? What is being conveyed from you for the world to see?

What has God promised you that you are waiting to see come to pass?

What are you still waiting on in your life that has the full manifestation of God’s will?

What is it that you need God to do in your life that you know He has promised you?

Do you not know, have you not heard, what your God can do only if you come back, wait, and stop being in such a hurry for Him to move.

You know you have to wait on God to do it. You cannot be impulsive or anxious.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God,” Philippians 4:6.

You may ask yourself when will God reveal His will to me? I know that the releasing of God’s will is His power. When will God reveal His power to me? I’m not going to stop worshiping Him or living for Him. I just need to know when.

God is looking for you to wait, believe and trust Him because He is the only one who knows the right time to reveal and to release the plans He has for you.

God knows what He wants for us to do. He has the blueprint for our lives all drawn up. He is putting seeds in our hearts. Like a gardener, He waters the seed so we can grow and be able to carry out His will.
