Expressions of faith
Grateful for all things

Bishop-Elect Dr. Monterey D. Lee, Sr.

Today I would like to ask you one question. What is the one thing you struggle with the most in life? What is the one thing that only you know that keeps you before God? Whatever it my be, are you willing to give it over to God and allow Him to work it out for you by improving your attitude with gratitude. In your struggle, God is not looking for you to complain or withdraw in tough times. The test that you are going though in life is not meant to break you. It is meant to completely expand you into the person that He wants you to become.

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus,” 1 Thessalonians 5:18.

Being thankful helps you build a better relationship with God. He is not positioning you for traumatic events to occur. His will is to build you to be stronger spiritually, physically and mentally. God looks for new possibilities for your life as you come out of your traumatic event. People who make it through post-traumatic events have positive changes in their relationship with God and man.

With a positive change, you will have a better appreciation of life and the new possibilities in life.

When you overcome adversity in life, it’s a sign of gratitude that you were not alone in your quest for victory. In your circumstance, you must prioritize relationships. This is not the time to be around negative people who see and know of your weaknesses to pull you down. You need to surround yourself with people who will help you and encourage you to accept challenges and bring about the change that is needed in your life. A lesson learned is not continued hardship. Continued hardship says you are limited in life, and there is no increase of self-awareness, spiritual maturity, or Godly relationships. You have a chance to make new choices. What matters the most?  How you act, think, and feel affects what you can and can’t do in life.

Remember to be grateful for all things. “You can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” Philippians 4:13.

Also remember that a ‘traumatic event’ plus a ‘positive response’ equals a ‘victorious outcome.’
