Romans 1:17
“For in the gospel [the good news] the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith: [from first to last] just as it is written, ‘The just [meaning the righteous] shall live by faith.’” Philippians 4:13.
“I can do all thing through Christ which strengthens me.”
Translation of Philippians 4:13: “I have strength for all things in the One strengthening me.”
In order for one to operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, you must first have faith that is fully developed. Your language and lifestyle must represent faith.
Spiritual gifts or charisma is a concept in Christianity that refers to an endowment or extraordinary power that is given by the Holy Spirit.
This is followed by the supernatural grace which individuals have in order to fulfill the mission of the Kingdom of God.
“To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to other gifts of healing by that One Spirit, to another miraculous power, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines,” 1 Corinthians 12:8-11.
We are called to learn and to develop in the faith because faith is essential and of the utmost importance for every aspect of the Christian life.
For without faith we are nothing and we can do nothing. Without faith we are without Christ.
For Christ makes us right in the sight of God.
In this text, Paul confirms God’s revealed word, or His ‘released’ word, with is the power of the gospel of faith to all the churches that are in Rome and Galatia—14 churches in Rome, and seven churches in Galatia.
As it is written, the just shall live by faith. Paul was reiterating [saying again] Habakkuk’s word: “The just shall live by faith,” Habakkuk 2:4.
He reveals this truth to the Saints [the born again, the chosen of God, the remnant] in Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:1, and Hebrews 10:38: “The just [the real, genuine] shall live by faith.”
This is a prophetic word describing what will happen in the future for the chosen people of God—you and I. For Paul in the text foresees and knows what will happen in the life of the faith walker that puts trust in God.
What will happen when we put our faith in God?
When we put our faith [trust] in God, He will find a way to return that trust to you. God has a plan for us as we live for Him in faith. Faith says God has a plan for me, so I put my faith [trust] in Him.
