Alive Hospice, the only nonprofit hospice in Middle Tennessee, is hosting several upcoming community events during the next few months.
On April 27th, Alive will host a free advance care event at the Larkspur Conservation (5201 Alabama Ave, Nashville, TN 37209) in Nashvville from 5:30 -7:30 p.m.
“This is a casual, drop-in event,” said Alive Hospice in a release. “Come when you can, and enjoy delicious snacks from Thistle Farms, beer, and door prizes on us!”
The event will feature small group-style chats with experts in the field from Larkspur Conservation, Sunny Care Services, and Alive will help you clarify what you can do today to better prepare, including:
• Completing your advance care directive to outline your wishes for medical care
• Organizing your digital estate
• Making a plan for what you want done with your body
• Visit our free guest notary to complete important documentation on the spot!

Additionally, on May 13, Alive will host a Mother’s Day Memorial Windchime Workshop.
According to Alive Hospice: “The Mother’s Day holiday can be difficult when you are grieving. Join us at this special event and create a one-of-a-kind wind chime decorated with found objects, personal mementos, and unique tokens that remind you of your mother.
“These chimes can be hung on a porch, in a garden, or in another location where they can add music and memories to the air. With each gentle breeze, you’ll be reminded of your mother’s love.”
All ages and abilities are welcome. There is a $5/person to cover the cost of materials.
On June 10, Alive will hold it’s Butterly Release at Green Door Gourmet.
“Each spring, we remember loved ones with a live butterfly release, symbolizing our lasting love and the renewal of the season,” said Alive officials. “We’re honoring loved ones who are gone from our sight, but not from our hearts. When you participate, you are also helping Alive’s patients and families write a special final chapter together.”
All funds raised support Alive’s nonprofit services including grief counseling, community education, and financial aid.
This annual event is for the whole family. There will be a memorial ceremony, and our Grief Counselors will lead the creation of spring-themed crafts to make keepsakes for this special day.
