Nashville Entrepreneur Week (NEW) is Nashville’s only FREE event dedicated to bring entrepreneurs of all kinds together for a week of education, collaboration, and connection. Whether you dream of starting your own business or you’ve already built a successful company, NEW exists for you. It is time to support entrepreneurs that are “scaling deep” in the Nashville community.
Nashville Entrepreneurship Week 2023: Together We Are Better is organized around the theme “Fostering lasting relationships, leveraging resources to address local community needs.” Founded in 2017, NEW has grown year-by-year. This year NEW will highlight entrepreneurial ventures that address local needs, build collaborative platforms, create deep customer experiences, hire local talent, and revitalize the community of Nashville.
Nashville Entrepreneur Week events are being held on Tuesday, May 2 through Friday, May 5, 2023 from 9 am – 4 pm CST daily at Nashville Tech Commons, located at 500 Interstate Blvd. Nashville, TN 37210. Their goal is to reach entrepreneurs of all kinds. As a free attendee, you are free to choose the track that best describes you, in order to hear curated content specific to your needs. Whether you’re a one-woman show, a new brick-and-mortar shop, or a high-growth tech start-up, they will have something with your name on it.
Among their many featured speakers are a few notable African American women, alphabetically: Sonya Cotham-Davis, Aireka Harvell, Christal Hector, Genma Stringer Holmes, and Karen Williams.
Sonya Cotham-Davis, a Nashville native, is a seasoned, professional banker in the Metropolitan Nashville & surrounding areas. Throughout Sonya’s 20 plus years as a banker and business professional, she has utilized her experience and passion for helping people in the community through leadership and service.
Aireka Harvell is a Nashville native and first-generation college graduate, with a decade of experience in high-scale customer loyalty with national brands like AT&T and Plenti Loyalty. She is the founder and CEO of Nodat Inc., an AI-empowered app that uses artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing to create a virtual agent that helps consumers navigate local services and resources, and create personalized experiences that can better meet their needs.
Christal Hector is the co-founder of TuneHatch, a web-based platform that helps independent music artists and venues book more profitable shows and fans find shows they’ll love.
Genma Stringer Holmes is an award winning serial entrepreneur and media influencer. She advises Black owned companies on how to navigate contracts and access resources to help diversify their companies to keep their family owned businesses in the family.
Karen Williams is an entrepreneur, speaker, and Founder/CEO of Cultural Avid formerly MinTech Agency, focusing on Diversity Talent Acquisition Strategies. Under MinTech Agency Karen worked with a range of organizations from Fortune 500 companies to startups with the mission to increase diversity in their engineering departments.
