On June 14, hundreds gathered at City Winery Nashville for United Way of Greater Nashville’s 2023 annual Community Meeting.

The event recognized leadership and commitment to building stronger communities by partnering with United Way of Greater Nashville during the 2022 annual fundraising campaign.

Bridgestone was recognized as United Way’s No. 1 campaign, raising almost $2.5 million. HCA Healthcare and Ingram were recognized for raising more than $1 million. Gresham Smith was honored with the Live United award, which honors a corporate partner who embodies the spirit of ‘living united’ through volunteerism, engagement, campaign best practices and creativity. CGI received the Hand Raiser award for their corporate gift and supporting Stuff the Bus and Jackson National for their gift to financial literacy work.

This year, United Way recognized three companies as Iris Circle award winners: Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation, Nissan and StrategyCorps. The Iris Circle was established in 1997. Hallmarks of the winning company include an innovative approach to running their workplace campaign and actively engaged corporate leadership.

“Thank you to all our partners for your commitment to United Way last year,” said United Way of Greater Nashville President/CEO Brian Hassett. “Your support made 2022 an exceptional year and allows us to continue to make our dream of a thriving community a reality for the future.”

Attendees also heard from panelists Dr. Shanna Jackson, president of Nashville State Community College; Eric Higgs, CEO of Boys and Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee; and Kent Miller, chief program officer of the Martha O’Bryan Center as they discussed their vision for the community.
