“Frist Fridays A Fashion Finale” is on August 23, the second installment of Frist Fridays 2024. It celebrates the closing weekend of “Lee Alexander McQueen & Ann Ray: Rendez-Vous.” Dress to impress to experience an exciting evening of fashion, music, and more.

You won’t want to miss this electric evening featuring a DJ set from Raiden, an alter ego of Clarence Edward, from 8:00–9:00 p.m. A Rendez-Vous tour with Emmanuel LeGrair follows from 9:00–9:30 p.m.

Performance in “¡Printing the Revolution!” by Veronique Medrano runs from 9:30–10:00 p.m. and a DJ set from Annie DiRusso & DJ r.a.k closes out the evening from 10:00–11:00 p.m.

Throughout the night, Frist friends at Folx Table will help you spark inspiring conversation with new people. “Lee Alexander McQueen & Ann Ray: Rendez-Vous” is the featured exhibition for this month’s Frist Friday, closing Aug 25, 2024 in Ingram Gallery. Lee Alexander McQueen (1969–2010) redefined contemporary fashion with his extraordinary ability to blend exquisite craftsmanship with imaginative storytelling. Mythologized in his own lifetime, the press promoted him variously as fashion’s enfant terrible (terrible child), a troubled genius, and one of the era’s most visionary designers, yet there were few who truly knew him.

The exhibition offers a rare glimpse into the life and mind of McQueen and introduces French photographer Ann Ray (b. 1969) to audiences in the United States. With a partnership built on friendship and trust, Ray was provided unfettered access to McQueen’s world and captured everything from contemplative moments in the design studio to models posing backstage. Rendez-Vous offers the unique opportunity to reevaluate the life and legacy of a beloved but widely misunderstood figure and to disentangle the person from the persona.
